Regarding the rules etc, there might be few tables or mods that might include them, but generally speaking people will avoid all that due the very real threat of GW taking their mods down. TL:DR It's literally a simulator, not a game per say. But it's great way to play with friends who are further away and if you are unable to go play locally for one reason or another.

It's slightly more cumbersome than playing in real life, as it's far easier to measure and move things in person. With occasional gadgets to help along the way. So to put it is simply digital tabletop with digital models. Each table and creator has their own things. There's no AI for TTS and some of the scripted things are simply quality of life improvements like turn counters, clocks, buttons to maybe swap out different terrain. Some tables may come with few sections of the rulebook for quick reference. TTS simply gives you assets and rest you have to know yourself such as rules etc. I’m just a little confused as to how TTS actually implements the 40K gameplay, or is it simply assets and you yourself need the knowledge in order to ‘manage’ the game itself?

Would I need to find a tutor to teach me the game? I assume there’s no AI in the 40K mod to play alone?Īdditionally, how does the game work? Do you need to have an idea of all the unit stats or will the game basically tell you itself what a successful or unsuccessful roll is? I’m just wondering if it’s worth purchasing TTS and installing the 40K mods to try and learn the game through that? With Covid being the hugely disruptive force that it has been this year, I’ve not had the chance to play any games or learn the rules really. I last played in 5th edition, so it seems a lot has changed since then and I’m totally unfamiliar with the rules. I’m recently got back into 40K with the release of the Indomitus box, and I’ve been chipping away at getting the models all painted. otherwise, we are all just people who enjoy the game.įeel free to message the Mods with any other ideas for ground rules, otherwise have fun!
